A MEETING WITH YOURSELF
Yoga at home
Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Power Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Sports Yoga, Yoga Nidra… there are as many types of yoga as there are yoga teachers. I’m often asked if Yoga means full consciousness (or mindfulness). The answer is an affirmative yes. Directing your consciousness freely in the present moment is Yoga. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras define Yoga as chitta vritti nirodha, meaning in Sanskrit : “yoga is stopping the automatic activity of your mind.”
Breathing, concentration, meditation, postures (asanas) as well as a loving inner dialogue and a benevolent attitude: Yoga is all of these things.
Stress reduction, stress management, managing worry and anxiety as well improving our breathing; gaining greater self-confidence and improving our physical and mental health, muscular strength and flexibility at any age. Understanding humanity and human psychology, non-violent communication, and cultivating an attitude of love: Yoga is all of these things as well.
Choose your Yoga teacher with great care.
